Gold Mine

Taking Route 8 northbound, 3 kilometers away from the city, entering through the access to the Agricultural Society of Lavalleja is reached the Mina de Oro -Gold Mine. There the visitor can cover their 800 meters of galleries with specialized guides, to learn about its history, charm and mystery.

The Gold-Mine Cabins can be found at the same location.

Penitente Waterfall

On the same route 8, at kilometer 125, take the path that leads to the waterfall of the PENITENT. 

At the end, it is reached a cascade of more than 50 meters high, surrounded by a rugged environment, where reigns the tranquility and beauty. 

The crystalline waterfall is a wonder in itself; and shed into a natural pool with bottom of rocks, suitable for bathing

In place works the Penitent Parador –Inn-, offering services of Gastronomy in general, area for camping, horseback riding, nursery, baths and toilet cabinets, and the possibility of practicing rappel or Tyrolean on the waterfall.

Serrana Village

Place is reached by Route 8 at two entrances, one at kilometer 139.500 and another at the kilometer 145.

Planned and carried out in 1945 by the Architect Julio Vilamajo, as a relaxing European-style villa, it was built with local materials.

The emblematic Ventorrillo of the Buena Vista (Good Scenery), symbol of the place, the reservoir of water, ideal for fishing, and paths surrounded by nature, ideal for walking or riding, roads are part of this place of dreams, which also has a good gastronomic and hotel infrastructure of first level.
