SOUTHWEST CIRCUIT
Verdun Hill
Without a doubt one of the emblematical symbols of Minas.
Since 1901, every April 19, it convoke thousand pilgrims from across the country, which reach its peak to venerate the image of the “Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción”.
From the Hill, which is visited by tourists throughout the year, one of the best panoramic views of the city can be seen.
Salus Park
It is located on kilometer 109 route 8. The SALUS Park presents a huge forest, sites and picnic facilities.
In the place, the Salus Company produces and bottles its product line. From the Fountain of the Puma, in the midst of a very well maintained indigenous forest enriched with other species, flows the mineral water that has its nascent hill above. The House where lived the musician Eduardo Fabini once was in this forest.
Within the Park stands the Parador Salus, providing lodging and gasronomic services. The Restaurant del Campo offers typical meals, quick lunches for groups and tours, children's games and guided horseback riding.
Dam White Waters
At kilometer 91 of Route 8, accessed through the scenic Route 81, the dam of the Molino Lados de Aguas Blancas (Mill Lados of Whitewater) can be reached.
In the middle of fruit trees yards, is a broad valley watered artificially by the dam built over the Brook (Arroyo) Mataojo. In the area of AGUAS BLANCAS in the sierras of the Abra de Zabaleta you can enjoy the municipal campsite facilities. In the area wild goats and different types of birds can be seen.
